The O’Hara Nature Center

The mission of the O’Hara Nature Center is to promote the community’s enjoyment and exploration of the Irvington Woods; to educate and involve the community in developing an appreciation and understanding of our local natural environment; and to demonstrate and promote sustainability concepts and practices that will inspire the community to live in balance with the natural systems on which life depends. The center, funded by a state grant and a donation by the O’Hara Foundation, was built through the village-wide effort of volunteers including architects, contractors, and community members. Programming offered at the nature center is provided through partnerships with the Irvington schools, the Irvington recreation department and a variety of supportive organizations.
