Location: O’Hara Nature Center Pre-registration at the Rec. Dept. required.
This class is designed to develop an appreciation for earth as a whole as well as specific skills required to enjoy and benefit from the outdoors required to enjoy and benefit from the outdoors. • Camping and Cooking • Survival skills • Tree identification • Wildlife tracking • Knife safety and use • Outdoor crafts such as primitive tool making (axe, spear, fishing pole) • Tree and plant identification and observation • Shelter construction • How to detect natural signs for time, direction and weather The majority of this class will be spent outdoors. Some class time may be indoors for discussion, films, etc. and during inclement weather.
