Irvington Woods Tree Plantings

The O’Hara Nature Center carried out its tree-planting project with CJ Reilly and Peter Strom, using best practices in social distancing, to plant and tag 225 native trees and shrub saplings in and around the grounds and woods of the O’Hara Nature Center. Some of these plants include: Pussy will (Salix discolor), Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis), Northern bayberry (Myrica pensylvanica), Witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana), Black cherry (Prunus serotina), Red oak (Quercus rubra), Grey dogwood (Cornus racemosa) and Butternut hickory (Carya cordiformis).
