Eagle Scout Candidate, Ben Talty, a senior at Irvington High School has taken on a project behind the O’Hara Nature Center and below the Outdoor Classroom . Ben will be creating a new pathway down to the Hermits Wetlands and it will become part of the Irvington Woods Park.

Recreation and Parks Department staff including CJ Reilly and Peter Strom along with Irvington Woods Committee members David Zwiebel and Nikki Coddington will be overseeing the work. Chet Kerr of the Irvington Land Trust is also assisting the oversite.

Ben and his team started prep work yesterday at the site.

Both Boy and Girl Scouts have played a very important role in the development of the trails in the Irvington Woods Park.

We are confident Ben’s project will be a great addition to the park.
